Please join us for AWI’s annual Sangamon Watershed Celebration to be held on Wednesday, November 19, 2014, at Richland Community College’s Shilling Center.
The Celebration will begin at 5:30 pm with a reception and exhibits. This will be followed by a Cajun-style dinner buffet catered by the Prairie Grille (6:30), a keynote address by Nancy Rabalais (7:00), and Cajun music by Tee Chaoui Social Club featuring Alan Lafleur (8:00).
Dr. Rabalais is Executive Director of the Louisiana Universities Marine Consortium and a leading expert on causes and potential solutions for the Gulf of Mexico “dead zone”.
The cost of the Sangamon Watershed Celebration is $25 per person in advance or $35 at the door.

Join us for the Green Lands Blue Waters Conference
This year, AWI’s annual watershed event is piggybacking on the Green Lands Blue Waters Conference which will be held on November 19-20, with pre-conference tours on the 18th. The conference theme is “Bioenergy and Sustainable Agriculture”.
Speakers and participants from throughout the Midwest will explore cutting-edge ideas to combine renewable energy with clean water and wildlife habitat. Friends of AWI and the Sangamon are cordially invited to attend the conference. It will spotlight local efforts to make the Lake Decatur watershed a national showcase.
Cost of the full conference is $90, which includes the Sangamon Watershed Celebration, other meals, and the optional pre-conference tours.
